Hotai Insurance was established in April 1961, originally named Overseas Chinese Property Insurance Co., Ltd., mainly engaged in various property insurance businesses; joined Zurich Financial Insurance Group in 1989; in January 2017, the equity was transferred from Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. to Hotai Investment Co., Ltd., with Hotai Motor Co., Ltd. as the ultimate parent company. The company was renamed "Hotai Property Insurance Co., Ltd." from March 1, 2017; in 2022, a cash capital increase was conducted, and after the increase, Hotai Motor Co., Ltd. and Hotai Investment Co., Ltd. jointly held 99.98% of the equity.
